BRING ME ALL THE BABIES!  No seriously, it never gets old spending the morning with these gorgeous little people and their awesome parents.  Newborn sessions normally run close to two hours, so in between the actual photographing I get the chance to chat and learn how their first few days as parents (or second or third time parents) have been going.  I always say that newborn portrait sessions are 90% feeding, soothing, perfecting poses, and chatting – and 10% actually taking pictures 🙂

Little Matthew wanted to make sure his belly was extra full before we could get started with his newborn portraits.  It’s amazing how their little personalities show from day one.  He is such a gorgeous little guy, and his momma was just the sweetest.  I’ll never stop feeling so incredibly honored that my clients choose me as their photographer for these extra special first portraits!

Well, when you plan an engagement session in February, you can’t ask for much better than an almost 50 degree evening!  It was still a little chilly, but these two were troopers.  I had so much fun with Sara and Aaron as we wandered around the (still under construction) downtown Newark area. Engagement sessions are a good time for my couples and I to chat and get to know each other before all of the stress and excitement of their big day.  I am so excited to shoot their wedding this summer!

If you are recently engaged, contact me!  I would love to chat about your big day 🙂

The first time that I met Molly and Garrett I knew that it would be so much fun to work with them.  We met at my normal coffee shop for our consultation – which if I’m remembering correctly – happened to have been the location of their first date.

We shot their engagement session downtown in Granville last fall when the leaves had just turned the most beautiful colors.  I couldn’t wait to shoot their big day.

While photographing the girls getting ready… the power went out in the church.  This is something I am all too familiar with as my wedding day also happened to have a no electricity situation.  But, neither Molly nor Garrett let that get to them.  Their ceremony and reception were just perfect.

Molly and Garret – thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer.  I am so happy to have met you both and wish you nothing but the best in your married life!

Little Layna is the newest member of The Milestone Collection!  She was an absolute dream to photograph.  She woke up for a minute, just to see what we were up to, and then went back to sleep like a professional little baby model.  I am so excited to see her grow over the next year!

Newborn sessions are by far the most time consuming to shoot and edit – mostly because I may have a little OCD when it comes to posing, wrapping, what their hands are doing… 😉  – but when I look at a finished gallery I almost always think to myself that I could only do newborns and it would be okay with me!  They REALLY only stay that tiny newborn size for like a week.  They change on a daily basis those first few months of their life.  I can’t think of a more important time period to document.  Nine long months of waiting and anticipating their arrival, then you blink and they are two years old.

If you are expecting a baby, contact me today to reserve your newborn portrait session!
